Artistic talent in Surrey “A” Level
Art Exhibition
In October 2008 over 300 people came to Betchworth in Surrey
to see an exhibition of art submitted by students of twelve local
schools for their A level examinations.
The exhibition was staged by Ashtead, Betchworth, Bookham, Dorking,
Epsom, Leatherhead and Reigate Societies with grants from Patricia
Fay Memorial Fund and East Surrey Area NADFAS.
Teachers, students and visitors were inspired by the talent shown
by the A level entries. Some comments from visitors; ‘very
inspiring – much better that the Turner prize entries’; ’amazing
work, such talent’; ‘incredible imagination – outstanding’;
A privilege to see such fantastic work’.
The standard of the artwork was outstanding and fully justified
the time and effort involved.
